Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has temporarily suspended the dispatch of specific diesel models, namely the Hilux, Innova Crysta, and Fortuner.
This decision comes in response to irregularities in horsepower output certification tests identified by Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC).
The irregularities pertain to the ‘smoothing’ of power and torque curves, with assurance from Toyota that this did not result in any exaggeration of powertrain-related values.
Toyota is actively collaborating with authorities to validate the certification data for the affected vehicles. While dispatch for these models is on hold, the brand continues to accept new orders. For dispatched but undelivered vehicles, customers will be notified about the situation, and registration and delivery will proceed only upon confirmation.
