Tata Motors has finally launched the new Tiago in the Indian market today at an introductory price tag of Rs. 3.20 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
The petrol variant prices start from Rs. 3.20 lakhs and the diesel variant prices start from Rs. 3.94 lakhs, all prices are introductory and ex-showroom, New Delhi.
This is the car which was going to be be launched with the name – Zica, but the Zika Virus, a disease causing virus made the company to change the car’s name from Zica to Tiago. This Tiago is placed below the Tata Bolt.
The new Tata Tiago is offered in both petrol and diesel powertrains. The petrol engine is a 1.2L Revotron engine which produces 85 PS of power at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm at 3500 rpm. The diesel variant gets a 1.05L Revotorq engine which produces 70 PS at 4000 RPM and 140 Nm of torque at 1800-3000 rpm. Both the variants return an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 23.84 km/l (petrol ) and 27.28 km/l (diesel).
The car is offered in five trims of both the engine models viz. XB, XE, XM, XT and XZ. The company is offering an additional safety features pack on the XE, XM and the XT trims for an additional amount of Rs. 18,ooo/-. The company should have made the Safety features as standard, is what we think so. The company has also asked its dealerships to push more for the safety features variants than the others.
Tata Tiago comes equipped with an Harman infotainment system and the car comes with new segment-first applications like the Turn-by-Turn Navi app and the Juke-Car app.
The car will come with a warranty of 2 Years / 75,000 KM (whichever is earlier) with an extended warranty option of 2 years + 1 year (3rd year extended warranty up to 75,000km) or 2 years + 2 years (3rd and 4th year extended warranty up to 1,00,000 kms).
The Tata Tiago also completed 50,000 kms in 414 hrs 59 min 20.995 seconds (Revotron engine) and 418 hrs 51 min 26.801 seconds (Revotorq engine) during the #GearedForGreat record run and has also acheived multiple record-breaking distances.
