Tata Motors first unveiled the Sierra EV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, sparking anticipation among automotive enthusiasts. While the EV version is confirmed for launch in 2024, new details have surfaced about the internal combustion engine (ICE) variants.
According to official information, the Sierra ICE models will debut shortly after the EV, in the latter half of 2025. This release strategy aligns with Tata Motors’ EV-first approach, a philosophy that began with the Curvv siblings earlier this year. The ICE versions of the Sierra are expected to feature the proven 2.0-liter diesel engine currently offered in the Harrier and Safari models. Additionally, a new 1.5-liter T-GDi turbo-petrol engine is likely to be included. An all-wheel-drive (AWD) system could also be available across all powertrains.
Patent images of the production-ready Tata Sierra surfaced last December, revealing a design closely resembling the concept car showcased previously. However, Tata Motors has remained tight-lipped about the technical details of the Sierra EV, keeping specifications under wraps for now.
In related news, the Harrier EV is set to launch early next year, with more information about the model available on Tata Motors’ official channels.
