Tata Punch achieves the 4 lakh unit sales milestone

Tata Motors has announced a significant milestone for the Tata Punch, which has crossed 4 lakh unit sales in just 34 months. Launched in October 2021, this B-SUV competes with the Citroen C3 and Hyundai Exter.

The Tata Punch quickly gained traction, reaching 1 lakh unit sales by August 2022, only 10 months after its launch. The sales momentum continued, with the 2 lakh and 3 lakh milestones achieved in May 2023 and December 2023, respectively. Additionally, the Punch holds the distinction of being the safest car in its class, earning a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.

A key factor contributing to the Punch’s rapid sales growth is its diverse range of fuel options. Initially launched with a petrol engine, it now also offers CNG and electric variants. Earlier this year, Tata introduced an EV version and a twin-cylinder CNG model, enhancing its appeal.

Tata revealed that 53 per cent of Punch sales are from the petrol variant, followed by 33 per cent from the CNG variant. The EV model, competing with the Citroen eC3, accounts for 14 per cent of sales, with 21 per cent of Punch EV buyers being first-time car owners.
