Royal Enfield is set to make its long-awaited debut in the electric motorcycle segment. The company will unveil its first-ever electric bike on November 4, just ahead of the 2024 EICMA show. This marks a significant milestone for Royal Enfield as it ventures into the world of green mobility.
A few months ago, BikeWale provided an exclusive look at the production-ready version of the Classic Electric, and now it appears that Royal Enfield will use the prestigious EICMA platform to showcase its electric technology. The design patent images suggest that the new electric motorcycle will feature a modern retro aesthetic, drawing heavy inspiration from the brand’s iconic Classic range.
One of the standout design elements is the use of girder forks, which leads us to believe that this might initially be presented as a concept model. The rear end of the bike, particularly the mudguard, seat, and indicators, further reflects the Classic lineage that Royal Enfield enthusiasts know and love.
When it comes to performance, the bike is equipped with a large battery pack housed within the chassis, which boasts an interesting and unique design. The swingarm appears to be made from aluminum and follows a traditional design approach. While details about the electric motor are scarce at this point, it is expected to offer a reasonable amount of power, with a belt drive transferring power to the rear wheel.
Currently, more specific information about the electric motorcycle is yet to be revealed. However, BikeWale will provide comprehensive coverage of this exciting new model directly from Italy on November 4. Stay tuned for more updates on Royal Enfield’s electric journey!
