Mercedes-Benz India concluded its 2024 lineup with the launch of the AMG C63 S E Performance 4Matic+. The automaker is now gearing up for its first offering of 2025, an all-electric version of its iconic G-Class SUV.

Named the G-Class with EQ Power, this electric SUV was first unveiled in its concept form at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. It is now set to debut in its production-ready variant, the G 580 EV. Pre-bookings for the highly anticipated model have already commenced.

Powering the new G-Class EV is a robust 116kWh battery pack paired with four electric motors, one for each wheel. This configuration delivers a combined output of 579bhp and an impressive 1,164Nm of torque. The vehicle offers a driving range of 470km on a single full charge, ensuring both power and practicality.

When it comes to performance, the G 580 EV can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in under five seconds and achieve a top speed of 180kmph. Beyond its advanced powertrain, the electric SUV features several updates, including refreshed styling, interior enhancements, and an updated feature list. Among its standout innovations is the highly anticipated G-turn, or tank turn, enabling the vehicle to rotate 360 degrees on the spot, adding a new dimension to its off-road capabilities.

The launch of the G-Class EV marks Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric mobility while maintaining the rugged appeal and luxury that the G-Class is renowned for.
