Jeep has unveiled the first teaser for its upcoming next-generation Compass SUV. The automaker has confirmed that production will commence at its Melfi plant in Italy in 2025, followed by expansion to additional manufacturing locations in 2026.

The teaser offers a glimpse of the next-gen Compass, which seems to have a longer profile compared to the current model. The images also reveal design elements such as squared-off wheel arches, a floating roofline, and wrap-around headlamps and taillamps. If the Compass does indeed grow in size, it’s likely that the next-generation Meridian will also increase in length compared to its current version.

India, being the right-hand-drive (RHD) production hub for the Compass, is expected to be among the first markets to receive the new-generation model when it launches globally in 2026. The new Compass is anticipated to offer both petrol and diesel powertrain options, along with an upgraded set of features.

In terms of competition, the next-gen Compass will rival popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Tata Harrier, while also facing competition from mid-level variants of the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.
