The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is generating quite a buzz with its upgraded safety, features, and fuel efficiency. Recently awarded a five-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests, this compact sedan is setting new standards in its class. While the prices are anticipated to be revealed on November 11, 2024, bookings have already begun for a token of ₹11,000.
Available in four variants—LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus—the Dzire’s top variant offers premium features like a large infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a wireless charger, 360-degree surround camera, and an electric sunroof.
Under the hood, the Dzire sports a new 1.2-liter Z Series NA petrol engine that produces 80bhp and 112Nm of peak torque, available with either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The fuel efficiency is impressive, with the petrol variant rated at 24.79 kmpl (manual) and 25.71 kmpl (AMT). A CNG variant is also available, boasting a remarkable mileage of 33.73 km/kg.
The new Dzire is set to compete with models like the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and the Honda Amaze, which is also slated for an update next month. With its robust safety profile, upgraded features, and fuel-efficient engine options, the Dzire is well-equipped to strengthen its position in the compact sedan market.
