Ahead of its highly anticipated launch on 3 October, Kia has released the first teaser for the all-new Kia Carnival set to arrive in India. This new model will debut in the local market alongside Kia’s flagship electric SUV, the EV9.
From the teasers, the 2024 Kia Carnival is seen sporting dual sunroofs, one each for the front-row and second-row passengers, adding to the luxurious appeal of the MPV. Inside the cabin, a new dual-screen setup will feature—one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the driver’s display.
On the exterior, the updated Carnival will showcase a refreshed design that includes a new grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), contrast-coloured skid plates, a sleek LED light bar on the tailgate, redesigned alloy wheels, new roof rails, and a shark-fin antenna.
The interior is expected to come loaded with advanced features, such as an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite, a new three-spoke steering wheel, large 14.6-inch screens for second-row passengers, a touch unit for AC and infotainment controls, a digital rear-view mirror (IRVM), and a heads-up display. As for seating configurations, the India-spec Carnival may vary, but globally, it is offered in seven-, nine-, and 11-seat configurations.
Under the hood, the next-generation Kia Carnival is likely to be powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel engine that delivers 197bhp and 440Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Reports indicate that the initial model will be launched as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), with a locally assembled (CKD) version expected to follow shortly thereafter.
