Here is a unique perspective on one of India’s most affordable compact hatchbacks, Maruti Alto, that has been turned into a sedan to rival the Tata Tigor. The digital artist has gone into a lot of detail to match the dimensions so that the digital concept looks as close to reality as possible. Alto K10 has recently been given an update making it a lot more modern and premium compared to the outgoing model. But no one could have imagined it in a sedan guise.
Maruti Alto Sedan to Rival Tata Tigor Digitally
The concept has been rendered by SRK Designs who is a prominent player in the space. For this version, the front fascia of the regular Alto K10 has been tweaked a little to make it look a bit broader. The grille is massive and the bumper is sporty. The fog lamp housing looks attractive while the headlights look inspired by the Swift. In addition to that, the side profile looks appealing with creases and stylish alloy wheels. However, the main highlight is the extension beyond the C pillar. There is a boot there completing the sedan silhouette. Along with that, the wraparound taillamp can also be seen in the video.
In fact, the colour of this digital illustration is orange which reminds one of Tigor too. Currently, Maruti Swift Dzire is the most popular product in the compact sedan segment. This rendering reminds us of something like that as well. Overall, the professionalism with which this digital model has been completed looks so sophisticated that anyone would easily take this to be a production version. The 2022 Maruti Alto K10 comes with the next-gen K-Series 1.0-litre dual-jet VVT petrol engine. It develops a healthy 66 hp and 89 Nm of peak power and torque. There will be the option of choosing between a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti claims the mileage of 24.90 km/l (AMT) and 24.39 km/l (MT). The prices range from Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.83 lakh, ex-showroom. After the discontinuation of the Hyundai Santro, the K10 will go up against the Renault Kwid in our market.
