  • MG Hector was launched in India in 2019
  • It received a minor nip and tuck the following year

MG made its Indian market debut in 2019 with the Hector, which was quick to become one of the best-selling SUVs in the segment. Now, the brand is all set to launch the new version of its best-selling SUV. In line with this, it recently commenced the production of the upcoming model. It’s important to note here that this will be the second facelift in less than 4 years.

100,000 Units Production Milestone

The brand is also celebrating the production of 100,000 units of the Hector SUV. The recently released photo from the production plant shows the 100,000th unit covered with flowers. The upcoming model will be offered with a long list of updates, including soft parts, more equipment, and updated specs. The new model is likely to be sold along with the present version. Mahindra followed a similar strategy with the ScorpioN and Scorpio Classic while even Toyota is considering a similar strategy for the Innova Crysta and Innova HyCross.

As far as cosmetic updates are considered, the facelift model will boast many new exterior elements like a larger grille, new headlights, an updated bumper design, new alloy wheels and more. The rear of the SUV will get a new chrome strip on the tailgate. Just like the Astor, the Hector could be offered with ADAS.

A new dashboard with a fully-digital instrument console, automatic climate control with AC vents, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, powered front seats, and leather upholstery will also be on offer. The new center console and gear lever will be redesigned to accommodate the electronic parking brake.
