Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch the refreshed GLS 600 in India on May 22. As the ultra-luxurious version of the GLS flagship SUV, the Maybach GLS 600 is poised to offer a blend of opulence and cutting-edge technology. Here’s what we know so far about this highly anticipated model.
Exterior Enhancements on the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600
The India-spec Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 will feature updates similar to its global counterpart. While it will retain its iconic grille design, it will incorporate enlarged vertical chrome accents for a more striking appearance. Additionally, the new iteration will boast revamped bumpers, updated LED headlights, and LED taillights. The SUV will also ride on newly designed 22-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its road presence.
Interior Features of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600
Inside, the changes to the dashboard will be minimal, primarily limited to the steering wheel. The overall cabin layout will remain largely unchanged, continuing to feature the brand’s luxurious Manufaktur leather interior. Key highlights include the latest MBUX infotainment system with dual screens, a 27-speaker Burmester sound system, rear infotainment screens, and ambient lighting. The global model offers both four- and six-seat configurations, and it will be revealed on May 22 which setup will be available in India.
Powertrain and Performance of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600
The 2024 Maybach GLS 600 will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powerhouse produces 549bhp and 730Nm of torque, with the mild-hybrid system providing an additional boost of 22bhp and 250Nm. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via a nine-speed gearbox, coupled with an all-wheel-drive system, ensuring a smooth and dynamic driving experience.
As Mercedes-Benz prepares to introduce the updated GLS 600 in India, it promises to deliver unmatched luxury, advanced features, and powerful performance, solidifying its status as the pinnacle of opulence in the SUV segment.
