The Mercedes-Benz EQA is the brand’s most affordable electric SUV in India, priced at Rs. 66 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a single fully-loaded variant, the EQA 250+, which is essentially the electric counterpart of the GLA. While the propulsion system differs from the GLA, the EQA comes with additional features that set it apart. The big question, however, is its real-world driving range. With a claimed range of 560km, how does it perform on the road? Let’s find out.

We charged the EQA to 100 percent, reset the trip meter, and embarked on a test drive across a predefined route comprising both city and highway conditions. The test concluded when the battery was completely drained, and the EQA covered 445km before coming to a halt. This translates to 79 percent of its WLTP-claimed 560km range, a respectable figure for real-world driving scenarios.

Under the hood, the EQA is powered by a 70.5kWh battery pack coupled with a single electric motor producing 188bhp and 385Nm of torque. Charging options include an 11kW AC charger, which takes seven hours and 15 minutes to fully charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent. Alternatively, using a 100kW DC fast charger, the EQA can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 35 minutes, making it highly convenient for long-distance travel.
