Mahindra is gearing up to debut its first BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) later this year, with the anticipated launch of the XUV.e8. Following closely on its heels will be the XUV.e9, expected in April 2025, which has already been spotted testing in camouflage.

The XUV.e9 marks Mahindra’s first “born electric” vehicle, built on the advanced INGLO platform. This coupe-style SUV is projected to deliver an impressive range of 500 km, and at least one variant is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system for enhanced performance.

What sets the XUV.e9 apart is its role as a showcase for Mahindra’s next-generation technologies. This model will introduce several new systems, including an augmented reality head-up display, a custom EV sound package developed by the renowned A.R. Rahman, and a sophisticated connected car suite tailored specifically for EVs.

With the XUV.e9, Mahindra aims to go head-to-head with the Tata Curvv EV, making it a strong contender in the growing D-segment EV market. The coming years promise fierce competition in this segment with entries like the Maruti eVX, Toyota Urban Sport, Honda Elevate EV, new MG ZS EV, and Tata’s upcoming Harrier EV and Sierra EV. Mahindra has high expectations for the XUV.e9 as it makes its mark in the rapidly evolving EV landscape.
