A few days ago, Mahindra surprised the automotive world by officially naming their new five-door Thar as the Thar Roxx. The price announcement for this rival to the Force Gurkha five-door is scheduled for August 15, with deliveries expected to commence shortly after.

Adding to the excitement, Mahindra revealed the exterior design of the Thar Roxx. A quick glance at the video showcase reveals key exterior features of this lifestyle SUV, which will also compete against popular models like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, and the Skoda Kushaq.

Exterior Features

The Thar Roxx, compared to its three-door predecessor, sports a revised front fascia with a new grille design, circular LED DRLs integrated into the projector headlamp setup, circular fog lights, and slight modifications to the bumper. Notably, the grille also houses a front camera, enhancing its modern appeal.

Several elements have been carried over from the three-door model, including the fender-mounted turn indicators, front door-mounted ORVMs with ‘Thar’ branding, chunky wheel cladding, and side steps. New updates include machined alloy wheels, a larger wheelbase, C-pillar-mounted body-colored rear door handles, and a rear quarter glass. The side profile features the signature 4×4 badging, while the rear showcases C-shaped brake lights with new LED taillights.

Expected Interior and Features

While Mahindra has yet to fully reveal the interior and complete feature list of the Thar Roxx, expectations are high for the 2024 model. Anticipated features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an ADAS suite, dual-zone climate control, a fully digital instrument console, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Stay tuned for more updates as Mahindra prepares to launch the Thar Roxx, set to make a significant impact in the SUV market.
