- Aftermarket car modification houses have reached a new level of sophistication.
- As a result, they have developed vintage avatars of relatively new products.
- This Willys Jeep in Rat Rod guise is one such project.
This has to be India’s first Willys Jeep in a Rat Rod avatar. For the uninitiated, the Rat Rod body type has been around for decades where cars were made out of waste material with a low-slung stance and bare-bone modifications. These were cheaper alternatives to luxury cars back in the day. Moreover, some people have found appeal in such raw designs and modern aftermarket car shops have created such models on demand. Let us take a look at this Willys Jeep.
India’s First Willys Jeep in Rat Rod Avatar
The video has been uploaded by Dayakaran Vlogs on YouTube. The presenter and YouTuber interacts with the owner of the modification house called Khan Brothers. They are popular across North India and even pan India, for their uniquely modified SUVs, particularly Jeeps. This time around, the video capture tons of Jeeps that have been modified. But we are specifically focusing on the Willys Jeep with Rat Rod design. It is one of the most attractive and enticing products of the lot. It took around 4 months to build at the cost of around Rs 7 lakh.
Finally, the changes are not just strictly restricted to aesthetics but also extended under the hood. It is powered by a 2.4-litre diesel engine borrowed from Toyota because of its reliability. Moreover, the suspension setup has been taken from Mahindra Scorpio. Scorpio is known for having a rugged suspension propelling it over any terrain. Those capabilities are inherited by this unique Jeep too. But one must be prepared to deal with the authorities while using it as such modifications are not road-legal. Do share your thoughts about this.
