The Hyundai Exter has been performing well in the Indian market, contributing significantly to Hyundai India’s sales figures. Essentially, the Exter is built on the Grand i10 Nios platform but features a distinct design and a more premium set of features. Hyundai has enhanced its appeal by adding crossover-like design elements and high-end features such as paddle shifters and a sunroof. Here, we take a closer look at the real-world mileage of the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a five-speed AMT.

Real-World Mileage Performance

The 1.2-litre engine in the Hyundai Exter produces 82bhp and 114Nm of torque. Hyundai claims an official mileage of 19.2kmpl for this engine. In our real-world mileage test, the Exter achieved 10.7kmpl in city driving conditions, with the Multi-Information Display (MID) showing 11.1kmpl. On the highway, the Exter performed better, delivering 18.5kmpl with the MID indicating 20.1kmpl. Overall, this results in an average mileage of 12.64kmpl. Given its 37-litre fuel tank capacity, this translates to an estimated real-world driving range of approximately 468km.

New Hyundai Exter Variants

Hyundai has recently expanded the Exter lineup with the introduction of two new variants: the S+ AMT and the S(O)+ MT.
