How do electric cars and bikes work?

With the same aim of reducing harm to environment, electric cars are those which are powered by one or more electric motors with the help of electrical energy stored in batteries. Electric motors are more efficient than internal combustion engines in energy conversion. In ICEs about 15 to 20% of the energy is utilized while electric cars use about 80% of the energy. Other advantages are that electric vehicles do not consume energy at idling, and energy lost when braking can be reused through regenerative braking.
