Honda has launched the Hybrid version of the Accord in India at Rs. 37 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
This launch has marked the entry of the Honda Accord in India again but only in its Hybrid version. It is also the 9th generation Accord and it is brought in India via the CBU route.
The Honda Accord Hybrid gets the Sport Hybrid Intelligent Multi Mode Drive (i-MMD) which features a 143 BHP, 2L, 4-cylinder, Atkinson Cycle DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft), i-VTEC engine combined with two powerful electric motors, an E-CVT transmission, a Power Control Unit (PCU) with high power output density, a small 1.3 kilowatt-hour (kWh) high output Lithium-Ion battery and Electric Servo Brakes with high regeneration efficiency. So, the overall combined output of power is of 215 BHP. THe claimed average by the company for this car is of 23.1 km/l.
This hybrid system also offers three driving modes – EV Drive mode, Hybrid Drive mode and Engine Drive mode.
In EV Drive mode, the car is driven under its battery power. In Hybrid Drive mode, the car is driven by the power generated by both the car batteries in which the engine acts as a generator. In Engine Drive mode, the car is driven by the engine power only.
There is also a Sports mode for more sportier driving and this is done by the battery that boosts the electric motors’ power for better acceleration.
Honda Accord Hybrid also features the following features – Honda LaneWatch blind-spot display with a camera on the passenger-side mirror that provides a view on the 7.7 inch i-MID screen; a multi-angle rear view camera, Active Cornering Lights (ACL), Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS), Anti-lock braking (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control, Brake Assist, Motion-Adaptive Electric Power Steering (EPS), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Six Airbags.
The Honda Accord Hybrid is available for the ex-showroom prices of Rs. 37, 00,000 (Delhi), Rs. 40, 14,047 (Navi Mumbai) and Rs. 40, 57,485 (Bangalore).
