Datsun has launched its new hatchback, the redi-GO in India today at a price of Rs. 2.38 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
This car is the third offering in India by the Datsun after the GO and GO+. It is launched in the entry-level hatchback segment where the Maruti Suzuki’s Alto, Renault’s Kwid, Hyundai’s Eon and Tata’s Nano are there.

It is launched in five variants – D, A, T, T(O), and the S. D is the base variant. The new redi-GO is made available in 5 variants, 5 colors and 5 customization packs as this car is mainly targeted towards the youngsters.
The design is fresh and stylish and the car stands tall. The interiors are decent and a music system with a piano black surround with CD, USB and AUX connectivity options is offered from the T variant onward.
The redi-GO gets the same 3-cylinder, 799 cc, all-aluminium petrol engine as that of the Renault Kwid. It weighs 57 kg and produces 54 BHP of power and 72 Nm of torque. It can achieve a top speed of 140 km/h and returns a class-leading, ARAI claimed mileage of 25.17 km/l. it also gets the highest ground clearance in its segment of 185 mm.
The Datsun redi-GO comes packed with the Datsun PRO-SAFE7 safety features – shortest braking distance, high strength body shell, good driver visibility, good suspension system and decent maneuverability, high bolster support while cornering, energy absorbing steering and driver airbag.
It also gets first-in-class LED DRLs placed above the fog lamp in the top variant. Airbag too is offered in the top variant only.
Datsun has 50 accessories on offer for this small car and also offers five customization kit options – Urban, Style, Kool, Easy Kit- enhance style and Easy Kit – premium style.
