BYD, the renowned Chinese automaker, has unveiled significant updates for its all-electric Seal sedan in its domestic market. These enhancements include faster charging capabilities, courtesy of the new 800V architecture, dubbed ‘e-Platform 3.0 Evo.’ This upgrade slashes the battery charging time from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes, compared to the previous 37 minutes. The Seal now also offers two battery options: 61.44kWh and 80.64kWh, with an impressive driving range of up to 700km.

In terms of design, the refreshed Seal features several exterior updates, such as a new paint option, redesigned alloy wheels, and a distinctive BYD logo on the tailgate. Additionally, the car now comes equipped with a LiDAR sensor on the roof, enhancing its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) capabilities.

The interior of the Seal has also seen a revamp, with updates like a new four-spoke steering wheel, redesigned AC vents, and a slightly altered dashboard layout. While the BYD Seal made its debut in March 2024, this updated version is expected to arrive in India by 2025.
