Ather 450X was launched recently in India at a price tag of Rs. 99,000/- (Ex-Showroom, Bangaluru) where the owners need to pay an additional sum of Rs. 1,699/- (Plus) or Rs. 1,999/- (Pro) as a subscription service cost every month.
The 450X is powerful than the 450 and also can be purchased without the subscription plan for Rs. 1.49 lakhs (Plus) and Rs. 1.59 lakhs (Pro), all prices, ex-showroom Bengaluru.
The 450X is powered by a 6 kW PMS motor that produces 8 BHP and 26 Nm of torque (450 produces 20.5 Nm). It has a top speed of 80 km/h and does 0-40 km/h in 3.3 seconds, thanks to the new Warp mode. It features 29 kWh battery with IP67 rating. The 450X is lighter than the 450 by 4 kgs. It gives a range of 85 km in Eco mode and a range of 70 km in Ride mode. Both the ranges have gone up by 10 km compared to the 450. The larger lithium-ion battery on the 450X takes more time to charge, which is 3.35 hrs to charge up to 80% and 5.45 hrs to charge fully from 0%.
The Ather 450X will get a 4G SIM card along with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to manage phone calls and music on the touchscreen dashboard. The new 7” touchscreen dashboard, comes with a Snapdragon Quad-Core processor. Ather 450X utilizes Android Open Source to offer map navigation, On-board diagnostics and other unique features like Over-the-air updates, Auto Indicator off and Guide-me-home lights.
The Ather mobile app will continue to offer personalized ride statistics, charging status, push navigation and more functionalities like theft & tow detection, live location & vehicle state tracking, voice assistant and welcome lights. Ather 450X will support connected accessories like smart helmets and tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
The company will be installing fast charging infrastructure in Pune in the coming months, followed by the delivery of the scooters. The 450X can be pre-ordered via the company website for a fully refundable Rs. 2500/-. The prices of the scooter are expected to differ from other states as the Maharashtra government is finalising EV policies for the state. The Ather 450X is available in Grey, White and Green colours.
