The highly anticipated Aprilia Tuono 457 has been revealed ahead of its official unveiling at EICMA 2024. While it shares its foundation with the RS 457, the Tuono showcases a distinct design that sets it apart from its fully-faired counterpart.
The Tuono 457 features a sleek bikini fairing adorned with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, complemented by tank extensions that replace the fairing seen on the RS 457. The tail section has also been subtly altered, contributing to a unique aesthetic and identity for this motorcycle.
Under the hood, the Aprilia Tuono 457 will be powered by a 457cc parallel-twin engine, producing 46.9bhp at 9,400rpm and delivering a peak torque of 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm. This engine boasts a 270-degree firing order and is mated to a six-speed transmission. Having tested this engine in the RS 457, we found it to be refined, versatile, and responsive, characterized by its smooth, punchy performance.
The Tuono 457 will share its chassis and components with the Aprilia RS 457, featuring USD forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear. It will be equipped with 17-inch wheels shod with Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres, which have proven to offer excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions.
The Tuono 457 is set to make its official debut at EICMA 2024, with an expected launch in India in early 2025. Aprilia may also showcase the bike at India Bike Week 2024. Positioned below the RS 457, the Tuono 457 is anticipated to be priced under the ₹4 lakh (ex-showroom) threshold.
