2017 Kawasaki Ninja 300, Ninja 650, Versys 650, Z650 and Z900 Launched In India

India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) has launched its  new 2017 model range in India. The 2017 model range includes BSIV Ninja 300, new Ninja 650, slightly-updated Versys 650, new Z650 and new Z900.

1. 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 300:

For 2017, the Ninja 300 gets a BSIV-compliant engine and a new paint scheme. The weight of the bike has been increased by 2kg. According to the government’s rule, the Ninja 300 is equipped with a grab rail which is mandatory for saree guard and looks ugly and more of a wheelie bar (Motorcycle stunters would agree). Its power figures remain to be the same and is still not offered with ABS even as an option. It is priced at Rs. 3.64 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

2. 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650:

The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 sports a new design, a new steel trellis frame and an updated 650cc, twin-parallel engine. in addition to these updates, it now comes with ABS as standard. The engine gives a power output of 68 PS and 65.7 Nm of torque. Being mated to a 6-speed gearbox, it has an assist and slipper clutch. Weight of the bike has been reduced by 22kg over the previous Ninja 650. The design being inspired by the Ninja ZX-10R, the Ninja 650 looks more sharper and sportier. The single-piece seat has been replaced with split-type seats. Seat height is also low at 790mm than the previous model. It is priced at Rs. 5.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

3. 2017 Kawasaki Versys 650:

The Kawasaki Versys 650 gets a new paint scheme and also gets a gear position indicator. Besides these two additions, nothings new on the Versys 650. The motor of it has been BSIV-compliant since its launch. The green paint scheme really looks nice. It is priced at Rs. 6.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi)

4. 2017 Kawasaki Z650:

The Kawasaki Z650 is nothing but a naked version of the faired Ninja 650. It shares the same engine, same steel trellis frame and other few parts. But the Z650 gets a stylish bikini fairing and an instrument console as that of the Z900. The Z650 replaces the Er-6n and also weighs 20kg lighter than the Er-6n. It is priced at Rs. 5.19 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi)

5. 2017 Kawasaki Z900:

Kawasaki has finally launched the much awaited Z900 in India. The bike is priced at Rs. 9 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. It offers a huge value for money as at this price tag it also gets its accessories which include a seat cowl, radiator guard, tank pad, crash protectors and a fly screen. The Z900’s engine is a 948cc, liquid cooled, inline-four cylinder engine which produces 125 PS of power and 98.6 nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a assist and slipper clutch. The Z900 features a Japanese Sugomi design language like the Z1000. The Z900 gives out 12 PS of power more than the Z800 and the Z900 also weighs 20kg lighter than the Z800 as the company has employed a lightweight tubular chassis and also a lightweight swingarm. It is also offered with ABS as standard and with light on weight and more on power, this bike seems to be a great deal as being only a lakh costlier than  the Z800.
