As from a source, Indian Motorcycles have opened bookings for their entry level cruiser, the Scout. The launch marks a milestone in the effort by Polaris – who have controlling stake in Indian Motorcycles – to revive the brand, that was once Harley Davidson’s greatest rival. The Scout, which features a fusion of modern and classic styling cues, will give Indian (countrymen) cruiser enthusiasts a slightly larger alternative to the Iron 883, seeing as its natural rival the Sportster 1200 isn’t available in the country.
The liquid cooled, 1131 cc V-twin motorcycle features a rigid triangle design coupled with mono-tube rear shocks, designed to enhance handling and comfort. Priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), just under the Harley Fat Bob, the Indian makes a strong case for those looking for an entry-level cruiser and of course, Evel Knievel fans.
“The launch of the Indian Scout in the United States has proved to be successful in stirring a new wave of enthusiasm. The launch just added another feather in our effort to revive the history of Indian Motorcycle. The launched model is designed to possess the heritage of the past, blended with modern technology.
