Mercedes-Benz, with an Endeavour to provide the best and most of the comprehensive products in India, launched the New C-Class in its much awaited Diesel variant and the car is priced at Rs. 39.90 lakhs for the Style variant and Rs. 42.90 lakhs for the Avantgarde trim (ex-showroom, Delhi).
With the launch of this variant, Mercedes also commenced the local production of the new C-Class Petrol variant at its Chakan Plant in Pune and it is priced at Rs. 40.90 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
These both cars were launched by Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Piyush Arora, Executive Director, Operations, Mercedes-Benz India at Mercedes-Benz India’s Centre of Excellence in Pune.
The Diesel variant will be now available in the C 220 CDI STYLE and C 220 CDI Avantgarde, while the locally manufactured C-Class petrol will be available in the C 200 Avantgarde variant only at all Mercedes-Benz dealerships across India.
The C-Class Diesel will be available as completely built units only.
The 2015 Mercedes C-Class diesel is powered by a 2.1-litre engine that outputs 170 PS and 400 Nm, the claimed 0-100 km/hr time is 7.4 seconds while top speed is 233 km/hr. The petrol model which was launched in November last year uses a 2.0-litre mill, having 184 PS and 300 Nm on offer. Both the engines are paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox with steering mounted paddle shifts, there is auto start/stop too for improved efficiency. The vehicle gets Agility Control system which lets you choose out of five modes, these alter the AC, steering and engine performance. The diesel C-Class is offered in two trims – Style and Avantgarde, the latter is fully loaded. It is offered in 5 colours.
The Mercedes C-Class gets features like panoramic sunroof, ARTICO leather upholstery, 13-speaker Burmester sound system, 8.4-inch command infotainment screen (operated via a touch pad), rearview camera with grid lines, parking sensors, three-zone climate control AC, 3D satellite navigation and a lot more. While the diesel model is brought in via the CBU route, the petrol model is now locally assembled at the automaker’s Chakan facility, priced at Rs. 40.90 lakhs.
