Kia India has reached a significant achievement with the export of 1 lakh units of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicles. The company started its exports from the Anantapur plant in June 2020, and this facility has become one of Kia’s main export hubs, contributing to 50 percent of its global CKD exports.

For 2024, Kia India aims to ship over 38,000 CKD units to various regions, including Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam. The models being exported include the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens. Kia also plans to ramp up its export efforts over the next five years, with plans to expand its reach into regions like the Middle East and Africa, aiming to double its export volume by 2030.

Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, expressed pride in this milestone, stating, “India is not only a key market for Kia but is also emerging as a pivotal export hub. This achievement underscores our commitment to excellence in manufacturing and innovation while delivering value to customers worldwide. Our models, such as the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens, have seen strong success in international markets, and we are grateful for the government’s export-friendly policies that have been instrumental in strengthening India’s position in the global automotive value chain. Looking ahead, we are focused on expanding our CKD presence to the Middle East and Africa, with the goal of significantly increasing our export volume by 2030.”
