Hyundai India has introduced several updates to its popular Verna sedan, adding new features and a stylish color choice. The refreshed Verna now includes a sleek rear spoiler, enhancing its sporty appeal. Additionally, Hyundai has introduced a fresh grey monotone color option, adding to the sedan’s aesthetic choices.
The current generation Verna, launched in March of last year, is available with two petrol engine options. Buyers can choose between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine and a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The turbo variant produces an impressive 158bhp and 253Nm of torque, and is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) unit. The NA engine, on the other hand, delivers 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, and can be paired with a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Notably, there is no diesel engine option in the current Verna lineup.
Priced from Rs. 11 lakh ex-showroom, the Hyundai Verna is offered in four trims: EX, S, SX, and SX (O). Key features across these variants include an innovative switchable HVAC and media control system, a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated and heated front seats, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite for enhanced safety.
The Hyundai Verna faces competition in the sedan segment from models like the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, making it a strong contender with its recent upgrades.
