Citroën is set to introduce the next-generation version of its flagship SUV for India in 2025, with a preview showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show in the form of the C5 Aircross concept. The new model appears to be an evolution of the current version, adopting a sleeker, more refined design while maintaining a pronounced crossover stance. However, it is expected that the final production version may adopt a more conventional design language.
Concept vehicles often showcase bold, futuristic designs, and the C5 Aircross concept is no different. It hints at several key features that will likely carry over to the production model, such as LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs), 20-inch alloy wheels, a floating roofline, and split wrap-around tail lamps.
While there are no official images of the interior yet, we can make educated guesses based on Citroën’s recent models, such as the Euro-spec C3 and C4 Aircross. The new C5 Aircross will likely feature dual digital displays, two rows of seating, a sunroof, powered front seats, and rear AC vents to enhance passenger comfort.
In terms of powertrains, Citroën has confirmed that the new C5 Aircross will be offered with internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid, and electric options. This aligns with Citroën’s broader strategy to diversify propulsion across its entire lineup. The SUV is expected to debut in India by 2026, where it will likely be available with both petrol and diesel engine options.
