Tata Motors has launched the updated Nexon EV with a starting price of Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model features a 45kWh battery pack with prismatic cells, which significantly improves charging time, driving range, and high-voltage safety.
The updated 45kWh battery pack boasts a class-leading volumetric density of 186Wh/lit and offers 15% higher energy density compared to previous versions. This prismatic cell format, previously seen in the Curvv EV, enhances reliability, increases battery capacity, and reduces charging time by 29%—from 56 minutes to 40 minutes. The earlier model had a claimed range of 465km, while the updated version now offers an impressive 489km on a full charge. Its real-world C75 range is estimated at 350-370km.
The new Nexon EV also supports a faster charging rate of 1.2C and can charge from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes using a charger with more than 60kW capacity. With this fast charge, the vehicle can provide up to 130km of range in just 15 minutes. While the driving modes and regenerative braking system remain largely the same, the updated EV features an IP67-protected propulsion system, which is AIS038++ compliant and equipped with continuous telematics scanning to monitor critical parameters.
In terms of features, the Nexon EV continues to offer all its previous equipment. Buyers also have the option to choose the new ‘Red #Dark’ variant, which adds black and red accents for an additional Rs. 20,000. The Nexon EV 45 is available in four variants: Creative, Fearless, Empowered, and Empowered +.
