Skoda’s electric vehicle (BEV) strategy for India is finally taking shape, with the upcoming launches of the Enyaq EV and Elroq EV. Both models have been confirmed by Skoda to our sister publication, Mobility Outlook, and are set to debut in 2025.

Skoda Enyaq
The Skoda Enyaq, showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo, will be the brand’s flagship electric vehicle once launched. Initially, it will be introduced through the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route, but local assembly could follow if demand is strong. The Enyaq will be accompanied by its sibling, the Volkswagen ID.4, on its journey in the Indian market.

Skoda Elroq
Another key BEV in Skoda’s lineup will be the Elroq, the brand’s first compact electric SUV. Set for its global debut on October 1, the Elroq will measure around 4.5 meters in length and will ride on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. Like the Enyaq, it will initially come as a CBU, but may transition to a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model depending on demand.

Skoda Epiq
Perhaps the most significant model for the Indian market will be the production-ready version of the Skoda Epiq, which was first unveiled as a concept earlier this year. The Epiq is expected to serve as the foundation for Skoda’s A0 BEV, borrowing much of its design, features, and powertrain options. In the Indian context, the Epiq concept measures 4.1 meters, but Skoda could develop a sub-4-meter version to compete with popular models like the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV.

These upcoming models are expected to be pivotal in Skoda’s push into the Indian electric vehicle market.
