Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG to debut on 12 September

Since the unveiling of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift, rumors have circulated about the arrival of a CNG variant. We now have exclusive information confirming the launch timeline for the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG.

According to our sources, the CNG-powered Swift is set to debut on 12 September and will be available in multiple variants. Under the hood, the hatchback will feature the new Z-Series 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a 60-litre CNG tank installed in the boot. This setup is expected to generate approximately 70bhp and 100Nm of peak torque.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the Swift’s Z-Series engine is claimed to deliver 24.8kmpl. With the addition of the CNG variant, the Swift is projected to achieve an impressive fuel efficiency exceeding 30km/kg. For context, the previous generation Swift CNG boasted a fuel efficiency figure of 30.9km/kg.

Upon launch, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is expected to carry a price premium of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 80,000 compared to the standard petrol variant. Once it hits the market, the Swift CNG will go head-to-head with competitors like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago CNG in India.
