Skoda is set to unveil the name of its third vehicle under the India 2.0 program tomorrow. Earlier this year, the automaker announced its plans to enter the sub-four-meter compact SUV segment, with the official launch of this new model expected early next year, likely at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The company has narrowed down the list of potential names for the compact SUV to five finalists: Kwiq, Kylaq, Kosmiq, Kliq, and Kayaq.

The upcoming compact SUV has been spotted multiple times during testing and is anticipated to share several design elements with the Skoda Kushaq. As a sub-four-meter vehicle, it will benefit from the segment’s advantages, particularly noticeable when comparing it side-by-side with the Kushaq, especially beyond the C-pillar. The SUV will be powered by Skoda’s 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 113bhp and 178Nm of torque. Buyers will have the option of a six-speed manual transmission (MT) or a six-speed automatic transmission (AT).

This new compact SUV marks a significant milestone in its journey as it enters a competitive market. It will now be mentioned alongside popular models like the Maruti Fronx, Maruti Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon.
