BMW India is set to launch the eighth-generation BMW 5 Series on 24 July, alongside two Mini models: the new-gen Cooper S and the Countryman Electric.

The latest Mini Cooper, which made its global debut in September last year, will be available in Cooper C and Cooper S trims. These trims are powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 154bhp and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating 201bhp, respectively. The pure electric version of the Cooper will come in ‘Cooper E’ and ‘Cooper SE’ trims, equipped with 40.7kWh and 54.2kWh battery packs.

The Mini Countryman Electric shares its platform with the BMW iX1. Globally, it is offered in two variants: E and SE ALL4. Both variants feature a 64.7kWh battery pack, but the base E variant has a single electric motor producing 204bhp and 250Nm of torque. The SE trim is more powerful, with dual electric motors generating 313bhp and 493Nm of torque. The E variant offers a driving range of 461km per charge (WLTP cycle), while the SE variant provides 433km.

BMW India will launch these updated Mini models next month, with bookings already open. Notably, the Countryman Electric will be introduced in India for the first time as a CBU unit.
