Ather is gearing up to unveil the Rizta electric scooter on April 6th during the Ather Community Day event in Bengaluru. Alongside this reveal, the event will feature several other announcements tailored for current Ather owners and prospective buyers.
Tarun Mehta, the CEO of Ather Energy, has disclosed that the 450 electric scooter is poised to receive its most significant OTA update yet. This update package will encompass messaging features on the dashboard, enhancements to the smartphone application, and potentially the introduction of proximity lock/unlock functionality.
Furthermore, the 450 Apex model will be showcased for trial runs and demonstrations at the Ather Community Day event. Attendees can also participate in competitions where they stand a chance to win an Ather scooter.
As previously mentioned, the much-anticipated Ather Rizta will make its debut on April 6th. The Rizta has been spotted undergoing testing multiple times, featuring a distinctive design set apart from the current 450 series. With a more family-friendly aesthetic and larger dimensions, recent sightings have shown the Rizta comfortably accommodating two adults and even sporting a tail bag.
Industry expectations speculate that the Rizta will be priced in the range of Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, it will enter a competitive arena, competing against models like the TVS iQube S and the Ola S1 series in the burgeoning electric vehicle segment.
