Ola Electric Scooter Gets Move OS 3, 50 New Features

Ola Electric is now rolling out the Move OS 3 software update. It brings up to 50 new features that are likely to enhance user experience.

Despite several setbacks, Ola Electric is one of the leading electric scooter makers in India. It offers three electric scooters – S1 Air, S1, and S1 Pro. With regular software updates, the company has been consistently supporting its S1 scooter ecosystem. While there have been several delays, the software updates are used to make key changes and improve performance/ range. Now, Ola Electric is rolling out the Move OS 3 software update. It brings up to 50 new features that are likely to enhance user experience. Let’s take a closer look.

Ola Move OS 3

Move OS 3 is the latest software update from Ola Electric. It was supposed to be launched around Diwali. However, just like Move OS 2.0, it saw multiple delays. Still, the company has delivered goods with the final product. Now, the Move OS 3 software has been released for over 1 lakh users. It unlocks as many as 50 new features and delivers on the promises made by Ola CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal. This includes include proximity unlock, key sharing, moods, regen V2, calling, and hyper charging. The hill hold feature is not available in the Ola Move OS 3 beta phase.

The company claims that the new update also offers better performance and range. It can now go from 0-60 km/h run in 4.5 seconds only (down from 5 seconds). The performance has received a boost of 20% in Sports mode and 10% in Hyper mode. The Hypercharging compatibility allows Ola scooters to get 50 km of range in just 15 minutes. With better torque mapping and charging algorithms, users now have a 2% to 5% better range as well. The proximity unlock feature allows locking/ unlocking when the key is near the vehicle. Additionally, multiple features allow different settings per user.

Currently, Ola Electric is the leading electric scooter maker in the Indian market. It also plans to launch electric motorcycles and electric cars soon. Other than addressing safety concerns, the company still needs to deal with making the new electric scooters user-friendly. This includes easy charging options. It has already set up its Hypercharging network in select cities for convenient charging. Interested customers can purchase an Ola Electric scooter for just Rs 84,999. The Ola S1 Air, S1, and top-spec S1 Pro are priced at Rs 84,999, Rs 99,999, and Rs 1,39,000.
