Yamaha has launched the R15 Version 4 along with the new R15M with prices starting from Rs. 1.68 lakhs and at Rs. 1.78 lakhs, respectively (prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The R15 V4 comes in 3 colours – Racing Blue, Dark Knight, and Metallic Red. The R15M will be available in Metallic Grey colour and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition as well.
The styling of these motorcycles is inspired by the R1 and R7. The motorcycles come equipped with a bi‐functional LED headlight in the M-shaped intake duct which is complimented by DRLs. The fairing is new and reduces aerodynamic drag. The bikes get redesigned seats too. The LCD cluster is redesigned and has ‘Track’ and ‘Street’ modes, a new trip/info button positioned on the right handlebar and Bluetooth connectivity.
The 2021 YZF-R15 range is powered by a 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine that produces a maximum power of 18.4 PS at 10,000rpm and a maximum torque of 14.2 Nm at 7,500rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is also the first small-displacement Yamaha motorcycle to feature Traction Control System and a quick-shifter for smooth, clutchless upshifts.
The motorcycles also feature gold-coloured 37 mm inverted front forks and Linked-Type Monocross Suspension on the rear. The braking is kept in check by 282mm and 220mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively.
