Ford has launched the new 2021 EcoSport SE variant in India today at a price tag of Rs. 10.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).

This new variant comes without a rear-mounted spare wheel and gets a tyre puncture kit instead. This design cue is borrowed from the models sold earlier in the American and the European regions.

This EcoSport without a rear-mounted spare wheel has been made-in-India and has been on sale overseas since 2015. This variant was added to the EcoSport’s line-up by the company after considering custom feedbacks over the styling of the exported model.

The number plate’s placement is on the tailgate and the bumper gets an Applique, for extra protection. The rest of the design elements remain the same, like that of the Titanium trim.

It is offered with both 1.5L petrol and diesel engines that put out 120 BHP and 98.6 BHP respectively. Both motors come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.  It comes with standard features, and there are also additional features like cruise control, electric sunroof, HID headlights, daytime running lights, electrochromic mirror, rain-sensing wipers, push-button start/stop, front dual, side and curtain airbags.

The petrol SE variant costs 10.49 lakhs and the diesel SE costs 10.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
