Skoda India has launched the new BS6 Rapid 1.0 TSI in India at prices starting from Rs. 7.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). It was recently showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The new Rapid 1.0 TSI is offered in 5 variants – Rider, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo.
In terms of styling, it gets minor changes like the new alloy wheels and the boot lid spoiler. On the inside, the design and the layout remain to be unchanged.
The new Rapid 1.0 is powered by the new BS6-compliant, 1L TSI, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It produces 108.5 BHP at 5000 rpm and maximum torque of 175 Nm at 1750 rpm. As of now, it is available with a 5-speed manual transmission only, and the automatic gearbox will be introduced in the next few months. It returns a fuel economy of 18.97 km/l (ARAI certified).
The new Rapid 1.0 TSI replaces the 1.6L petrol and 1.5L diesel models, making it the only offering in its line-up.
The new Rapid 1.0 TSI comes loaded with features like 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, LED DRLs, 16″ alloy wheels, auto headlights, auto wipers, leatherette upholstery, climate control, cruise control, a larger 8″ touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility, etc.
