Porsche has launched the new 911 GT2 RS in India at a price tag of Rs. 3.88 crore (ex-showroom). The car made its official global debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed last year. It is the second variant that has been launched after the 911 GT3 RS (earlier this year) in India of its iconic sportscar, the 911.
The new 911 GT2 RS is Porsche’s most powerful and fastest street-legal 911 ever made. And currently, it is also the most expensive Porsche that is on sale in India.
The 911 GT2 RS is powered by a 3.8 L, twin-turbocharged, flat-six cylinder engine that churns out 700 BHP and 750Nm of torque. The car does the 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.8 seconds and does a top speed of 340 km/h. It is also the fastest production car to complete the Nurburgring’s lap in just 06.47.30 minutes.
New carbon fibre bonnet, exterior mirror caps, front wings, rear air intakes, wheel arch vents, a magnesium roof and a titanium exhaust have helped the company to reduce the car’s weight and keep it down to just 1470 kg. Another 30 kg of weight can be reduced by installing the optional Weissach Package, that includes magnesium alloy wheels and a carbon fibre roof.
