BMW’s next-generation 7-Series, the G11, has been pictured completely undisguised. This new flagship sedan of BMW will be revealed later this year and should hit the showrooms soon after it gets revealed, arriving as a 2016 model. It will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
This car’s design has been inspired from the Future Vision Luxury Concept which was recently showcased at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show and as well as its previous-generation models.
On the up-front, it will employ Laser technology head lamps, which are set to get slimmer, while the grille could be even bigger than the current model. On the Interior side, it appears more appealing as the dashboard, the gear shifter and iDrive steering wheel looks evolutionary.
The car will get a lightweight construction, with carbon fiber used for some elements. Weight savings for the new 7-Series could be between 180 to 182 kgs over the current model, which weighs close to 1996 kgs in some guises.
As for powertrains, 740i (6 cylinder) and 750i (8 cylinder) wearing badges cars will be launched in the United States. We should expect 6 cylinder 730d diesel model like the one pictured here, along with a V-12-powered 760i and a plug-in hybrid 740e.
